ARTIST PROFILE

 

Kinga Rypinska is a highly accomplished professional  painter.  She works in the unique medium of painting on glass, as well as on canvas. She studied painting and tapestry art at the Polish Art Academy in Poznan, and was mentored by the acclaimed Polish avant-guard artist Wladyslaw Hasior.

Kinga's artwork builds on the legacy of European surrealism, as well as the folkloric traditions of her native Poland.  In Australia her painting blossomed in a riot of tropical colours.  She developed a unique dreamlike imagery that bursts the boundaries of reality with wild energy, vitality and a humorous spark.
